Senior Accountant, CZ & Macedonia (m/f/d)

About the role

This senior accountant position is based in Sofia, Bulgaria with hybrid working options. You will own the end‑to‑end accounting for Chaos entities in the Czech Republic and Macedonia and act as Global Process Owner for the Accounts Payable function.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle for Chaos CZ, Macedonia and other entities, including general ledger, AP/AR, fixed assets and month‑end/quarter‑end/year‑end close in line with local GAAP and group reporting requirements.
• Serve as the primary contact for external auditors, tax advisors and statutory filings.
• Coordinate local treasury and payment cycles together with the group finance team.
• Define and maintain global standards for AP processes, harmonising workflows, closing gaps and driving automation in NetSuite and related finance tools.
• Support the Accounting Director with process‑improvement initiatives across finance.
• Assist with ad‑hoc accounting projects and international group consolidation activities as needed.

Required profile

• Proven experience in financial accounting within an international corporate environment, preferably in technology or SaaS.
• In‑depth knowledge of Czech statutory requirements, local GAAP and large‑scale group consolidations.
• Hands‑on experience with intercompany transactions and transfer pricing.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken) and comfortable working with Cyrillic.
• Ability to collaborate across multicultural, multi‑timezone teams.

Required skills

• Advanced command of Bulgarian GAAP.
• Detailed knowledge of IFRS and group consolidation.
• Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system.
• Proficiency with finance tooling in a software product environment.
• Understanding of Czech statutory accounting requirements.
