Senior Financial Analyst – Revenue Streams

About the role

Join SumUp’s Financial General Ledger team in Sofia and own the integrity of complex revenue streams such as lending, e‑money and merchant banking. You will combine deep accounting knowledge with data‑driven tools to understand why transactions happen and how they impact the business.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of complex reconciliations for one of SumUp’s revenue streams, investigating mismatches between back‑office systems, ledgers and cash flows.
• Review and validate postings and reconciliations performed by junior colleagues, ensuring audit‑ready documentation.
• Post complex accrual, impairment and revenue‑recognition entries and support month‑end close under tight deadlines.
• Collaborate with Product, Controlling and other teams to map system data flows and propose improvements.
• Help build structured tracking for open reconciling items, strengthening SumUp’s control environment.

Required profile

• Strong accounting background from an international company or audit firm, comfortable with financial reporting, GL entries and revenue recognition.
• Experience resolving reconciliation mismatches across high‑volume, complex data sets.
• Ability to give clear, constructive feedback on colleagues’ work without formal leadership authority.
• Curiosity about system and process connections, and confidence to ask probing questions.
• Proactive attitude in reaching out to cross‑functional teams to resolve issues.
