Junior IT Infrastructure Engineer – Delivery and Projects

About the role

AIXTRON, a supplier of deposition systems to the semiconductor industry, is looking for a motivated Junior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join its IT Infrastructure team in Sofia. The role combines technical infrastructure work, project delivery, operational improvements and cross-functional collaboration, supporting the operation and continuous improvement of IT Infrastructure services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform hands-on technical work on servers and operating systems, cloud infrastructure, on-premise virtualization, storage, backup and recovery, monitoring, identity and access management, endpoint infrastructure, security and infrastructure automation.
• Support upgrades, migrations, patching and lifecycle activities, and assist with troubleshooting, incident and change management.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operating procedures, diagrams and knowledge articles.
• Take ownership of selected infrastructure projects and improvement initiatives, preparing plans, risk logs and handover documentation.
• Coordinate dependencies across teams and help assess and prioritize the infrastructure backlog and roadmap.
• Contribute to cost tracking and understand CAPEX, OPEX, budgets, licensing and supplier costs.
• Identify opportunities for automation, standardization and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 2 to 4 years of professional experience in IT infrastructure, IT operations, systems administration, cloud operations or workplace infrastructure.
• Experience supporting infrastructure changes, upgrades or migrations.
• Initial experience in an agile, Scrum, Kanban, ITIL or similar environment.
• Experience creating technical documentation, implementation plans or operating procedures.
• Fluent English at C1 or C2 level.
