Network Engineer (Remote, Bulgaria)

About the role

Sutherland is looking for a qualified Network Engineer to join its Bulgaria team, working remotely. The role suits candidates with deep enterprise network engineering experience. You will design, implement and support enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN and cloud networking solutions, while providing Tier 2/3 support, leading upgrades and modernization, and mentoring junior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and support enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN and cloud networking solutions
• Maintain network architecture standards, diagrams and technical documentation, and evaluate and recommend network technologies, hardware and software
• Lead network upgrades, migrations and modernization initiatives
• Provide Tier 2/3 support for complex incidents and outages, perform root cause analysis and take part in on-call support and incident response
• Implement and maintain network security controls (firewalls, VPNs, NAC, segmentation, secure remote access) and collaborate with cybersecurity teams on vulnerabilities
• Support compliance, audit and risk management requirements
• Design connectivity to Azure, AWS, GCP and OCI, integrate network services with enterprise platforms, and support hybrid-cloud and multi-cloud architectures
• Lead network projects from planning to implementation, coordinate with vendors and stakeholders, and mentor junior engineers

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of enterprise network engineering experience
• Experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical environments
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills

Required skills

• Routing, switching, wireless networking and network security
• Cisco, Palo Alto, F5 or similar platforms
• BGP, MPLS, Layer 2/3 switching, VPN, firewall, IDS/IPS and Zero Trust
• SD-WAN, cloud networking and network monitoring tools
• Preferred: Cisco CCNP or equivalent, SD-WAN and automation tools (Python, PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible), and certifications such as CCIE, CISSP, Azure Network Engineer Associate or AWS Advanced Networking Specialty
