Network Operations Center Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Network Operations Center Engineer to join our European NOC team. You will provide outstanding customer service for fibre, wavelength and Ethernet services, handling incident, change and service restoration processes.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor core network infrastructure and customer services across the European network, investigating and escalating issues.
• Handle customer requests via shared inboxes, raise new cases, and keep customers updated throughout incidents.
• Manage the ticket queue from initial reporting to resolution, ensuring SLA targets are met.
• Troubleshoot customer issues and remotely test data and transmission circuits.
• Work with third‑party suppliers, track and escalate as appropriate.
• Liaise with other euNetworks teams during incident and change management lifecycles.
• Monitor change maintenance in the change management system and ensure accurate ticket data.

Required profile

• Passionate about delivering a good customer experience.
• Experience in an operations environment with technical network responsibilities.
• Ability to think logically under pressure and interpret large amounts of technical information.
• Fluent written and spoken English; other European languages are a plus.

Required skills

• Use of OSS management systems, SNMP, syslog, TACACS/RADIUS.
• Routing protocol experience, especially ISIS and OSPF.
• Ethernet‑based technologies including VLAN and MPLS.
• Knowledge of Juniper Junos, Cisco IOS, Huawei, Infinera, Ciena equipment.
• Experience with IP‑architectures and optical DWDM/CWDM networks.
• Understanding of fibre‑based transport protocols and DWDM architectures.
