Senior Roaming Operations Engineer

About the role

Join the Telecom Team of a leading global communications provider to deliver high‑quality roaming services. You will provide second‑line support for a range of roaming and connectivity solutions, ensuring reliable international communications for billions of users.

Key responsibilities

• Provide second‑line support for Instant Roaming, Open‑Connectivity Roaming, SMS Translator, Steering of Roaming, Managed PGW and related services.
• Monitor network and service availability, perform proactive and reactive maintenance, and manage incidents and planned work.
• Participate in new service implementations and network rollout projects together with engineering teams.
• Collaborate with product management, presales, and other support teams to gather logs, validate routing, and ensure high service quality.
• Work closely with vendors, monitor performance, and ensure proper service delivery.
• Support customers worldwide, cooperate with mobile operators and Travel SIM companies, and take part in an on‑call rotation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, IT or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in telecommunications, especially signaling or roaming.
• Strong understanding of network architecture, SS7/SIGTRAN, LTE, GSM call flows, Mobile Packet Core and roaming scenarios.
• Ability to work autonomously and in multicultural, fast‑paced environments.
• Upper‑intermediate (B2) English proficiency or higher.

• SS7/SIGTRAN, LTE, GSM, Mobile Packet Core, 5G, VoLTE, IMS.
• Linux operating system.
• Docker container platform.
• Splunk and Python for monitoring and automation.
• Experience with Cellusys Steering of Roaming platform (advantage).
