Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

Perkbox is hiring an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build and maintain secure, scalable and highly available infrastructure across its cloud and on-premises environments. The role improves platform reliability, drives automation, strengthens security and enables efficient delivery of technology solutions. Applications are open only to Bulgaria-based candidates; the work mode is fully remote, with a hybrid option available at the Plovdiv office.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure across AWS and on-premises environments using Infrastructure as Code.
• Manage and optimise Kubernetes (EKS), ECS and serverless platforms for performance, resilience and cost efficiency.
• Build, improve and automate CI/CD pipelines for reliable software deployments.
• Embed DevSecOps practices, including security scanning, secrets management and policy-driven controls.
• Own observability and monitoring, including alerting, performance monitoring and incident response.
• Support resilience through backup, disaster recovery, business continuity and on-call participation.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Security and business teams, and maintain technical documentation, runbooks and operational processes.

Required profile

• 4+ years' experience in a DevOps, Platform Engineering or similar role.
• Strong experience managing secure, scalable AWS infrastructure and hybrid environments.
• Proven experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Solid understanding of networking, security, system architecture and troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues.

Required skills

• Hands-on Kubernetes (EKS), containers and cloud-native technologies.
• Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Scripting and automation with Python, Bash or similar.
• Linux and Windows administration in production environments.

What we offer

• Gross annual salary of EUR 50,000 to EUR 56,000 depending on experience.
• Remote or hybrid work in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
