Senior Legal Counsel – Online Gaming Compliance

About the role

Best in Sports is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to lead its online gaming compliance function. The successful candidate will advise on licensing, regulatory matters and ensure the company meets all legal obligations across multiple jurisdictions.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to online gaming regulations, laws and licensing requirements in all operating jurisdictions.
• Prepare, review and submit documentation for obtaining and renewing gaming licenses.
• Monitor changes in gaming legislation and assess impact on business operations.
• Develop, implement and manage internal compliance policies and procedures.
• Serve as primary contact for legal and regulatory inquiries, audits and inspections from gaming authorities.
• Provide legal advice to management and other departments on compliance issues.
• Conduct internal and external compliance audits, investigations and oversee corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Risk, Compliance and other functions to embed compliance controls into daily processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a lawyer or legal counsel.
• Background in online gaming law or experience in a large international law firm or private‑equity advisory practice.
• Strong command of written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus.
• Knowledge of corporate and commercial law.
• Experience working with international licensing bodies for gaming, EMI or banking licences.
• Familiarity with legal frameworks of jurisdictions such as Malta, Isle of Man or the United Kingdom.
• Experience managing legal entities and company secretarial duties, either directly or via vendors.
• Ability to multitask, analyse large volumes of information and work independently.
