Snowflake Data Architect – Banking & Financial Services

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Snowflake Data Architect to join our international Banking & Financial Services practice in Sofia. You will lead the design, implementation and optimisation of Snowflake‑based data platforms supporting analytics, reporting and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Design and architect Snowflake data warehouses, defining logical and physical models, schema patterns and best practices.
• Build ELT/ETL pipelines using Snowflake native features and orchestration tools such as dbt, Airflow or Matillion.
• Implement secure data access, governance controls and role‑based permissions, including data masking and integration with IAM.
• Collaborate with cloud engineering on account provisioning, networking, cost control and storage integration across AWS, Azure and GCP.
• Optimise query performance and storage costs through clustering, micro‑partitioning, materialised views and warehouse sizing.
• Establish data quality, lineage and observability practices using metadata and testing frameworks.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship and conduct design and code reviews.
• Support data migration, modernisation and ensure compliance with banking regulations such as GDPR.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Snowflake Architect or Senior Data Architect with multiple production implementations.
• Strong knowledge of Snowflake features (streams, tasks, time travel, zero‑copy cloning, etc.).
• Hands‑on experience building ELT/ETL pipelines and data models using dbt, SQL, Python, Airflow or Matillion.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and multi‑cloud Snowflake deployments.
• Understanding of data governance, security controls and banking compliance requirements.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and stakeholder management skills.
