Accounts Payable Specialist

About the role

AIXTRON, a supplier of deposition systems to the semiconductor industry, is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Payable Accountant to join its Finance team in Sofia. The role covers the full accounts payable cycle, from invoice processing to month-end closing, and supports the integrity of the company's financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, review and process vendor invoices accurately and on time, with proper coding and authorization
• Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure completeness and accuracy of posted transactions
• Maintain and manage vendor master data, handle vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies
• Review and process employee expense reports in line with company policies
• Support month-end and year-end closing, including accruals, provisions and AP-related reconciliations
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies and regulations such as tax and VAT
• Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to automation initiatives in AP
• Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits

Required profile

• Completed commercial training or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 2+ years of professional experience in accounts payable or general accounting
• Fluent English; German is a plus

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles
• Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle or Microsoft Dynamics
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills
