Customs Manager

About the role

It takes a special kind of drive to keep the world moving and, due to growth, DSV is looking for an experienced Customs Manager to join and strengthen the local Customs team. The role is well‑suited for a senior professional with deep expertise in strategic customs management, long‑term strategy setting and execution, practical experience and strong leadership skills in a global workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Strategic management of the customs declaration department across all DSV companies in Bulgaria.
• Ensuring compliance with customs legislation and DSV’s internal standards.
• Coordinating and providing methodological leadership for customs activities within individual business units.
• Cooperating with customs authorities, internal teams and external partners.
• Developing and optimizing customs procedures, including implementation of Group tools and processes.
• Leading a team of high‑expertise professionals in customs activities.

Required profile

• University degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 5 years of progressive experience in customs, including people management or leadership roles.
• Strong understanding of local customs legislation and practices.
• Experience working with customs procedures, transportation providers and regulatory authorities.
• Proven ability to develop and implement long‑term customs strategies.

Required skills

• Extensive track record in developing, leading and motivating cross‑functional teams.
• Ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders on customs strategy.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset with a hands‑on, result‑oriented approach.
• Exceptional communication skills tailored to different organizational levels.
• Fluency in English.
