Financial Accountant (Maternity Cover)

About the role

Cision is looking for a Financial Accountant in Sofia, part of its Finance Department and the global accounting team. The account focuses on high-volume transactional processes such as accounts receivable, collections, accounts payable and general ledger activities. Reporting to the Accounting Manager (or Senior Accountant), the role covers month-end close, financial analysis, reconciliations and support during financial audits.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly journal entries for bank activities, prepaid expenses, P&E, accrued expenses, payroll and intercompany accounting, in line with close timelines
• Maintain monthly balance sheet reconciliations and answer reviewer and management questions promptly
• Work with internal and external stakeholders, including international accounting teams, FP&A, Legal and external consultants, especially on flux analysis and ad-hoc support
• Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor queries, resolving audit issues as needed
• Assist with footnote tie-outs for quarterly and year-end statements prepared under US GAAP and IFRS, and support statutory reporting and audits

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, and/or 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience
• English as the primary language of communication within the organisation
• Preferred: knowledge of US GAAP and experience in a global, decentralised environment
• Only candidates already based in the country of employment will be considered

Required skills

• Strong Microsoft Excel and MS Office skills
• NetSuite experience is a plus
• Attention to detail, accuracy, strong problem-solving and organisational skills
• Ability to multitask, work independently and meet deadlines without close supervision
