Linux Security Operations Engineer

About the role

Accenture is looking for a motivated Linux Security Operations Engineer to join its Security Operations Center. You will protect Linux‑based infrastructure, detect threats, respond to incidents and ensure compliance across production environments.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor Linux servers and network devices with SIEM tools such as Splunk and Tanium for anomalous activity.
• Investigate, triage and remediate security incidents following established IR playbooks.
• Implement and maintain OS‑level hardening baselines for RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian.
• Run vulnerability scans with Nessus or Qualys, evaluate CVEs and produce remediation recommendations.
• Automate security configuration management using Ansible or Puppet and maintain centralized logging pipelines (syslog‑ng, rsyslog, Fluentd, ELK).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or a related field.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on Linux system administration or security engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of Linux security architecture, kernel modules, namespaces, cgroups and seccomp.
• Experience with incident detection and response in Linux environments.

• Scripting: Bash, Python.
• Vulnerability scanning: Nessus, Qualys.
• Configuration management: Ansible, Puppet.
• Logging: syslog‑ng, rsyslog, Fluentd, ELK Stack.
• Network analysis: Wireshark, tcpdump, Zeek/Bro.
• Container security basics: Docker, Kubernetes (optional).
