AI Architect

About the role

PwC is seeking an AI Architect to design and deliver production‑ready Generative AI solutions for clients, guiding projects from discovery through implementation. You will combine hands‑on architecture, technical leadership, and client collaboration to create secure, scalable AI services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architecture and delivery of Generative AI solutions, selecting tools, frameworks and platforms.
• Translate business requirements into robust application, service and target‑state architectures, including RAG, agent orchestration, prompting and evaluation patterns.
• Own scalability, performance, latency, observability, security and cost optimisation across AI solutions.
• Define adaptation approaches (prompting, RAG, fine‑tuning, distillation) and determine when Generative AI is appropriate.
• Establish evaluation strategies, security, privacy, Responsible AI and governance controls.
• Mentor junior engineers, supervise vendor developers and support business development activities.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in agile product delivery and production software solutions at scale.
• Hands‑on experience designing and delivering at least one Generative AI system to production.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills in English.

• Generative AI platforms: Azure OpenAI Service, Semantic Kernel, LangChain, AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI.
• Large language models: GPT‑4, Gemini, Llama.
• RAG, vector search, hybrid search, chunking, reranking, permission‑aware retrieval.
• Cloud‑native Azure architecture, Azure Machine Learning, Azure AI services.
• Containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD (Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jira).
• Relational and NoSQL databases (SQL Server, MongoDB).
• AI evaluation, LLMOps, observability tools (LangSmith, Langfuse, Azure Monitor).
• AI security and governance (prompt injection, sandboxing, OWASP LLM top‑10).
