Senior Backend Engineer (All Genders) - Sofia Onsite

About the role

AIXTRON, a supplier of deposition systems to the semiconductor industry, is looking for an experienced backend developer to join its Sofia office team. You will work closely with an agile team on plant software and its surrounding components, coordinating with stakeholders, partners and process engineers on requirements and acceptance criteria.

Key responsibilities

• Work with the agile team to develop solutions for current and future plant software and its components
• Coordinate with stakeholders, partners and process engineers on requirements and acceptance criteria
• Ensure quality through unit testing, simulation testing and direct system testing
• Share knowledge within the team and keep an overview of the overall architecture
• Deliver tasks on time and support the AIXTRON quality standard through software concepts, implementation, testing and documentation in line with national and international standards

Required profile

• Degree in an IT-related field or completed vocational training
• At least 5-10 years of professional experience as a software engineer in complex software projects
• Experience with relational databases, including design, ORM usage and query optimization
• Interest in AI-assisted dev tooling
• Strong English, ideally German
• Willingness to live in or near Sofia and join the office team 2-3 days per week

Required skills

• C#.NET 8+, OOP, SOLID principles, design patterns, microservices and event-driven architecture
• API design (REST, gRPC, GraphQL) and Clean Architecture
• SQL Server and PostgreSQL, Entity Framework Core
• Windows hosts, Linux, virtual machines and containers (advantage)
