Strategic Buyer

About the role

Hitachi Energy in Sevlievo is looking for a Strategic Buyer to shape supplier partnerships, drive sourcing strategies and deliver value across the supply chain. The role works with cross-functional teams to negotiate supplier agreements, optimise costs and meet quality, delivery and sustainability targets. It suits a proactive, commercially minded person with strong negotiation and communication skills, ideally with experience in supply chain, sales or related fields.

Key responsibilities

• Identify new suppliers with the relevant category team and qualify them with Supplier Quality and Engineering specialists.
• Negotiate agreements with key suppliers and periodically renew pricing, terms and conditions.
• Adapt the corporate contractual framework to local needs, recommend framework agreements to management and execute approved arrangements.
• Process and evaluate bids, support bid and proposal teams with market intelligence, and monitor supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, lead times).
• Align supplier orders with customer requirements according to ERP, SOP and project specifications.
• Carry out all Supply Chain Management activities for goods and services in line with company policy.
• Maintain supplier data in the global supplier relationship management platform.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain or a related function.
• Excellent command of English and Bulgarian, with proven negotiation abilities.
• Self-motivated, collaborative team player with strong communication skills.

Required skills

• Experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
• Project management experience is a plus.
