Associate – Corporate & M&A

About the role

CMS Sofia is seeking a driven Associate to join its Corporate practice, working on cross‑border M&A transactions for domestic and international clients.

Key responsibilities

• Draft and review transactional documents such as share purchase agreements, shareholders’ agreements and related corporate paperwork.
• Assist with project and transaction management for large corporate and private‑equity clients.
• Advise on deal structuring, execution and corporate governance matters.
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, reports and client updates.
• Support senior lawyers on high‑profile cross‑border deals.

Required profile

• UK‑educated LLB graduate; SQE1/SQE2 passed or pending.
• Qualification as a solicitor in England and Wales preferred but not essential.
• Corporate law experience preferred but not essential.
• Proactive, motivated and eager to learn.
• Accurate and concise communicator.

Required skills

• Knowledge of English corporate law and practice.
• Native or near‑native English with excellent legal English.
• Ability to work as a team player under compressed timeframes.
• Relevant experience using AI platforms.
