Engineering Manager

About the role

Dreamix, a software services company founded 20 years ago and serving clients from Germany, the UK, Switzerland and Silicon Valley, is looking for a driven and strategic Engineering Manager to join its leadership team. The role guides projects at a high level, supports presales, contributes to company-wide strategy and fosters the growth of people and teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own projects from a high level, defining their scope, structure and success metrics.
• Partner with clients and internal stakeholders during presales, helping shape proposals and technical solutions.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and with high quality by aligning resources, priorities and dependencies.
• Contribute actively to the Dev Board and to company-wide strategic and technical direction.
• Translate business objectives into engineering strategies and roadmaps, balancing innovation with delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement in project delivery, from processes and tools to cross-team collaboration.
• Conduct performance evaluations for projects and individuals, and mentor engineers and leads.
• Foster collaboration, accountability and innovation, and act as a liaison between engineering and Business Development, Partnership Management, Operations and Talent & Culture.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead or similar role in a software organization.
• Experience in a software service company (not a product software company) is a plus.
• Experience consulting on AI implementation and GenAI solutions is a strong plus.
• Track record of building, coaching and scaling teams.
• Ability to balance hands-on technical depth with strategic leadership.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, architectures and delivery models.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Presales, client engagement or consulting experience is a strong plus.
