Finance Director – Relocate to Sofia, Bulgaria

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead the finance function of an international B2B company operating across multiple countries and legal entities. This hands‑on leadership role combines day‑to‑day accounting work with strategic oversight and team development, based in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, structure and develop the finance team across several locations, set priorities and manage performance.
• Own month‑end and year‑end close, group consolidation, inter‑company reconciliations and ledger integrity for multiple entities.
• Oversee statutory reporting, coordinate with external auditors and accounting providers.
• Manage corporate tax, VAT, transfer‑pricing documentation and related compliance.
• Direct treasury operations including cash‑flow forecasting, multi‑currency banking, FX exposure and working‑capital management.
• Deliver monthly management reporting, variance analysis and financial reporting to senior leadership.
• Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast processes and supervise AR/AP functions.
• Strengthen finance policies, controls, systems and processes and partner with Legal, HR and Commercial teams.

Required profile

• Significant hands‑on accounting experience in a multi‑entity, multi‑country environment.
• Full‑cycle finance expertise covering close, statutory reporting, tax, treasury, AR/AP and management reporting.
• Proven experience managing finance teams across locations and time zones.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent) and fluent English.
• Willingness to relocate to Sofia and work full‑time on‑site.
